Dr. Noss started his academic career at Austin College in Sherman, Texas, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree. From there he attended UNTHSC, Fort Worth, earning a medical degree (Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine). After returning to Dallas and finishing a one-year internship, Dr. Noss started in general practice. After six years, he returned to a psychiatry residency at Tulane University School Of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana. In 2012, he completed a Master of Science in Healthcare Management (MS) at University of Texas, Dallas (UTD). Dr. Noss has been Board certified in psychiatry and is currently working toward that certification. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Addiction Medicine being Board Certified in 2015.
Dr. Noss has practiced in a variety of situations starting with Dallas County MHMR (now Metrocare Services) and other groups dealing with the seriously and persistently mentally ill indigent population of Dallas County. He has also had a private practice with this same population. He has been faculty at UT Southwestern Medical Center in the past working at Parkland Health & Hospital System in the psychiatric emergency room and the AIDS clinic, which is recognized nationally as a specialist in HIV psychiatry. He also served as the Director of the Texas Oklahoma AIDS Education and Training Center. A career expansion into addiction medicine occurred with a move to Homeward Bound, Inc. in Dallas as the Medical Director for residential treatment of people with dual diagnoses. From there he moved to IPS/Transicare, Inc. as Medical Director starting new programs for dual diagnosed people in the framework of individuals judicially involved with drug use histories.
Dr. Noss currently serves as Medical Director of the newly created Transicare, Inc. outpatient clinic returning to his roots treating the seriously and persistently mentally ill of the region.
